There is nothing worse than walking into your home after a long day at work and realizing your home smells terrible. The foul smell is an automatic mood changer… and not for the better! Since we live in our homes and spend the majority of our time there; sometimes it takes a while to realize that our home could be freshened up. The following 5 tips will help you make your house smell amazing in no time.
1. Clean Your Garbage Disposal
Sometimes the kitchen can have a bad odor that you cannot figure out for the life of you where it is coming from. If so, check your garbage disposal. It always seems to be a silent culprit of stench.
You can try to pour some citrus scented dish detergent into the disposal to give it a fresh smell. Also, you can run lemon or lime rinds through the disposal, followed by lots of water. If the smell persists, pour in a 1/2 cup of baking soda while running warm water.
2. Be Creative with Dryer Sheets
We cant deny that the smell of dryer sheets is so refreshing. Thinking out of the box and putting these sheets around the house can help make your home smell wonderful. Especially placing them in closets, shelves and drawers always seems to work like a charm.
3. Air Out Your House
4. Burn Incense
As traditional as it sounds, Incense is a powerful way to make your house smell amazing. With the many options of scents available you can select a scent that goes perfect with every season. Just burning one Incense stick will result in a great smell all around the house.
5. Carpet Freshener
This is one of our favorite quick fixes to making your home smell amazing. Sprinkle a fresh scented carpet freshener sparingly around the carpets and rugs in your home. If your rugs are lighter in color you have the option to simply use a broom and sweep the freshener into the carpets for an even longer lasting scent. The other option is to grab your vacuum and remove the freshener.
