Folks are naturally curious about how we do our work, how we price a job and how long it takes, etc. etc. etc. We gladly welcome such questions. So we thought we'd go ahead and provide an outline to address these concerns in this month's blog post.
So here goes:
Questions on our part most often begins with the size of the space needing to be cleaned. So we'll start outlining cleaning estimates from the typically smallest to the larger areas.
Let's say yours is a 400 to a 900 sq. ft. living space. It might be a convenience apartment or a small condo, or a what is often considered a "studio" apartment. It could even be a garage apartment, or a boarding house room, but pretty much around this size.
We always do what we call a "deep cleaning". This means every nook and cranny gets attention; every area that might harbor dirt/dust/grime gets the once over. This can take anywhere from 6 to 10 hours. For jobs like this, we typically send a two-person cleaning team. We say "team" because our people work together as a team. In other words, we have a routine where each person knows the cleaning plan and we get right to it the minute we arrive. With two cleaning specialists that's a 3 to 5 hour cleaning estimate. Cleaning every surface as clean as it can possibly be. We've found that small spaces tend to be a little more cluttered than larger areas. Folks have stuff and a small space is often carefully carved out to pack the various possessions in such a way as to make the most of the limited available space. In fact, we're often quite surprised at how much can actually fit into a small space! And in between all that nicely arranged stuff we uncover plenty of places for dust to hide and get comfortable. But NOT ON OUR WATCH!
Even though it's a small space it can be cluttered and crammed and all jammed up with slimy, grimy dirt. We know these types of dirt traps and we're trained to eliminate them completely leaving a clean, organized smaller space that looks larger when we're done.
Folks who have us clean a small area are often so pleased with the result they have us return on a monthly basis (or every other month) to work our cleaning magic again and again to tidy up, organize and maintain all areas we recently deep cleaned. The good part about this is that is takes us a fraction of the original cleanup time to maintain a small space such as this. Usually about a 3 to 4 hour cleaning estimate to bring it back to the optimum, deep clean the original job entailed.
This brings us to the next step up in living space size:
Maybe your place is 900 to 1200 sq. ft. With a bit larger kitchen and bathroom. Often times including a stairway and a second level, with maybe a staircase to the basement and/or laundry area. Possibly a little one-car garage. An area of this size is quite typical and categorized as a standard apartment. Again, we send a 2-person cleaning team to do our initial deep cleaning/once over which usually takes 10 to 15 hours total, and with two cleaning specialists that's 5 to 7.5 hours of time on the clock.
If we are then asked to return for a regular monthly maintenance visit to tidy up, organize and maintain all areas we just deep cleaned will take about 4/5 hrs. to get it back to tip-top shape.
Then there's the next living space size jump up to around 1000 to 1500 sq. ft.
Now the kitchen's a really good size and likely has lots of cabinets which require inside and outside cleaning & disinfecting as well as organizing of the contents. This size space probably has two bathrooms instead of one, and usually no basement and all on one level. A really good sized home with more than likely a lot more windows. A home of this size typically takes somewhere between 12 to 18 hrs. for us to complete our usual deep cleaning/disinfecting/organizing routine. With our two-person cleaning team of specialists that's 6 to 9 hours. Or with a 3-person team of cleaning specialists the job gets done in 4 to 6 hrs. We are in your home cleaning every surface top to bottom until it's nice and clean and totally organized leaving you with a comfy, inviting living space.
Returning once a month to tidy up, organize and maintain all areas we just deep cleaned will take about 4 to 6 hrs. to get it back to the cleaning perfection we initially achieved.
Now let's talk about a three bedroom three bath home, condo or apartment that's 1500 to 2000 sq. ft.
More than likely, we now have 12 to 15 windows to address. A nice, spacious 10x12 kitchen with an island; and possibly a finished basement with a game room; a second level with a laundry on that floor and two full baths with a half bath for visitors. A nice home indeed! A conscientious spring cleaning is needed at this time of year to get it really clean and organized for you to enjoy. Our deep cleaning efforts on this size home takes anywhere from 18 to 25 hrs. Deep cleaning and organizing and tidying up every room means we address kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, playrooms and garage. With 3 cleaning specialists that will take about 6 to 8 hrs. You will be amazed at how our team tackles your home with a whirlwind of activity that happens in concert as our cleaning pros go about their business to make your world sparkly clean looking and invitingly organized as well as noticeably clean smelling.
We find returning once a month to tidy up and organize your house is much more manageable in all areas we just deep cleaned and will us take about 6/8 hrs. to get back in shape.
